OUR MEMBERSHIP APPROACH

EEESEF's membership programme is based on voluntary institutional support, professional integrity and a shared interest in environmental science, education and responsible development.

Annual membership subscriptions contribute towards the Foundation's non-commercial objectives, including scientific research, environmental education, publications, knowledge exchange and international cooperation.

Membership is not a commercial service package. The annual subscription supports EEESEF's institutional mission and does not constitute payment for specific goods, professional services, consultancy, environmental assessments or certification.

Membership is personal to the individual or organisation admitted and is non-transferable. It does not confer ownership, shareholding or entitlement to the Foundation's assets or financial surplus.

MEMBERSHIP RIGHTS AND PARTICIPATION

EEESEF members are entitled to participate in the Foundation's institutional community on the following non-commercial basis.

1. Governance Participation

Members are entitled to attend and speak at EEESEF's Annual General Meeting in accordance with the Foundation's governing documents.

Members may also be considered for nomination to the Foundation's Scientific Advisory Board or other constituted bodies, subject to the applicable appointment requirements.

2. Membership Recognition and Affiliation

Members may be recognised as supporting members of EEESEF, subject to their consent.

Members may use the designation “Member of EEESEF” in accordance with the Foundation's applicable branding and membership guidelines.

Membership recognition does not represent environmental certification, ESG compliance, professional accreditation or endorsement of the member's products, services or business activities.

3. Information and Research Updates

Members are entitled to receive periodic institutional newsletters, general research updates and briefings concerning EEESEF's activities and programmes.

These communications support the exchange of scientific knowledge and information within the Foundation's membership community.

4. Scientific and Institutional Community

Members may receive invitations to relevant Foundation gatherings, roundtables, discussions and events open to the membership community.

Such activities encourage professional dialogue, environmental awareness and scientific cooperation among participating individuals and organisations.

5. Research Priorities and Institutional Input

Members may propose topics for consideration within EEESEF's environmental science, education and ESG-related research activities.

Where appropriate, members may also comment on proposed programme priorities circulated by the Foundation for general membership input.

These membership rights are identical for Individual and Organisational Members. Participation in specific activities remains subject to the Foundation's governing documents, applicable arrangements and availability.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION AND ADMISSION PROCESS

EEESEF follows a structured application and admission procedure intended to ensure institutional integrity, transparency and compliance with applicable requirements.

Prospective members contact EEESEF to express their interest in Individual or Organisational Membership.

The Foundation provides the relevant membership information and application documentation.

STEP 2 — Application Submission

Organisational applicants provide the organisation's registration documentation and identification of the authorised representative signing the application.

The review may include identity verification, organisational information, beneficial ownership checks, sanctions screening, politically exposed person (PEP) checks and other appropriate due diligence procedures.

EEESEF reserves the right to request additional information where reasonably necessary.

STEP 4 — Membership Approval

Following a satisfactory review, EEESEF communicates its membership decision.

Approved applicants receive an official Membership Approval & Bank Transfer Instruction containing the applicable annual subscription, payment details and reference.

STEP 5 — Annual Subscription Payment

The approved applicant transfers the annual membership subscription to the Foundation's designated bank account using the payment instructions provided.

Payment must originate from a bank account held in the name of the approved individual applicant or applicant organisation.

STEP 6 — Membership Confirmation

Membership is confirmed in writing once EEESEF has received the required annual subscription in full and the applicable admission requirements have been completed.

The membership period normally runs for twelve months from confirmation.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENT

EEESEF's annual membership subscriptions are established in euros (EUR):

Individual Membership — €1,000 per year

Organisational Membership — €2,000 per year

Payment may be made by direct bank transfer in EUR, USD or GBP, using the equivalent amount calculated at the applicable bank exchange rate on the payment date.

The applicant is responsible for applicable bank transfer charges, intermediary bank fees and currency conversion costs. EEESEF must receive the full equivalent annual subscription amount.

Official bank account details, payment descriptions and individual payment references are provided only after membership approval.

All payments must be made from a bank account held in the name of the approved applicant. Third-party payments are not accepted.

Membership subscriptions are payable annually in advance and are generally non-refundable once paid, except in exceptional circumstances at the Foundation's discretion.

MEMBERSHIP DURATION AND RENEWAL

Membership is normally valid for twelve months and may be renewed annually.

EEESEF notifies members in advance of the applicable renewal arrangements and provides updated payment instructions.

Members may resign by written notice in accordance with the Membership Policy.

If the renewal subscription is not received within thirty days of the renewal date, membership may lapse in accordance with the Membership Policy.

Renewal remains subject to the Foundation's membership requirements and applicable compliance procedures.

INDEPENDENCE, ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE

  • EEESEF maintains institutional independence, transparency and professional integrity in all its scientific, educational, environmental and ESG-related activities.
  • Membership does not provide preferential treatment in environmental assessments, ESG certification, scientific findings or institutional evaluations.
  • Membership does not include individually commissioned reports, consultancy services, technical assessments or other separately arranged professional activities.
  • Any such activities, where available and permitted under the Foundation's Articles of Association, are governed by separate procedures and agreements and remain independent of membership.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Financial Integrity

EEESEF is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions violations and the misuse of its membership programme for unlawful financial activities.

The Foundation applies appropriate due diligence and compliance procedures to membership applications and subscription payments, including:

  • Identity Verification: Verification of individual applicants and authorised representatives of organisational applicants through appropriate identification documents.
  • Organisational Verification: Review of company registration documents, legal status and, where necessary, beneficial ownership information.
  • Sanctions Screening: Screening against applicable sanctions and asset-freezing requirements, including relevant UK and international sanctions lists.
  • Politically Exposed Persons (PEP): Appropriate identification and review of applicants who are politically exposed persons, or their relevant family members or close associates.
  • Source-of-Funds Verification: Where appropriate, verification of the lawful origin of funds used to pay membership subscriptions.
  • Financial Traceability: Maintenance of appropriate records of membership applications, approvals, subscription payments and related compliance procedures.

Membership Subscription Payment Requirements

For transparency, financial accountability and AML compliance, all membership subscriptions must be paid by direct bank transfer from an account held in the name of the approved applicant.

  • For Individual Membership, payment must originate from a bank account held in the individual applicant's own name.
  • For Organisational Membership, payment must originate from a bank account held in the name of the applying organisation.
  • Payments from unrelated third parties, unidentified accounts or accounts that cannot be satisfactorily linked to the approved member are not accepted.
  • Official bank account details, payment descriptions and individual payment references are provided only after membership approval.
  • Membership is confirmed only after the required subscription has been received in full and the applicable compliance requirements have been satisfied.

Compliance Review and Membership Approval

EEESEF reserves the right to request additional identification documents, organisational information, beneficial ownership details or evidence concerning the source of funds where reasonably necessary.

The Foundation may decline an application, withhold membership confirmation, suspend or terminate membership, or take other appropriate action where required information is not provided, compliance checks cannot be satisfactorily completed or legitimate financial concerns arise.

Where applicable, EEESEF complies with legal obligations concerning suspicious activity and financial sanctions.

Personal information and compliance records are handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection requirements and the Foundation's internal procedures.

EEESEF is committed to maintaining transparent, responsible and properly documented membership and financial administration.

SUPPORTING THE FOUNDATION'S OBJECTIVES

Annual membership subscriptions support EEESEF's institutional mission, including environmental science, education, ESG research, scientific publications, knowledge exchange and international cooperation.

EEESEF operates on a non-profit-distributing basis. Funds and any resulting surplus are applied towards the Foundation's objectives and permitted institutional activities.

Membership subscriptions are distinct from voluntary donations and do not constitute payment for particular services or deliverables.
